Types of student funding

Forget the back of the couch when it comes to student funding

Whether it’s grants, scholarships, awards or donations, they all do the same thing. Just see if they’re suited to your circumstances, not what they call it!

While this is winning, remember that any grant means less credit (you can’t use both cash pots, unless you have the right to do so

Under the initial framework, 20192020 will be the last academic year in which students can receive a maintenance allowance

    These cash are for special circumstances such as travel related to the course, sanitary conditions or financial liability for others. Apply to them through your college financial body!

    You can get help with travel expenses, if you are studying abroad as part of your course or have clinical settings in the UK, which meant a lot of travel

    Allowances for disabled students (DSA)

    If you have a disability, the disabled student allowance (DSA) can help you cope with the extra costs of going to the toilet. There’s a physical and a support

    Financing should not be repaid and not verified-but if you already receive money under the same conditions (for example, financial support from your uni), you may not be able to apply for DSA. Check the rules before applying

  • You have a state of health, mental health problems, or learning difficulties

    Think of the boursars and scholarships as cash with criteria-you can get funding to cover your fees (or high share of your living expenses), but you will have to jump through a few hoops to get it

    Schemes are managed by universities, colleges, charities, businesses, local governments, and even private sponsors, and each of them establishes its own rules for the person who receives the look

    What is called a scheme (for example, access to the Learning Foundation), how much in a saucepan and how it is paid, will vary according to the institution, but, as the name suggests, money is there to help students seriously
